Going to college a lot of you might ask yourselves, "okay, I'm here. Now what?" I definitely found myself wondering that my first few days on campus. Besides going to class and doing homework/readings (and believe me, there is a lot) there are literally hundreds of other, more fun activities to do. Between greek organizations, spirit clubs, sports games and major specific groups, at UT there will never be a dull moment. All you have to do is be prepared to get out of your comfort zone, socially and academically, and the possibilities for you will be endless. I found it was hard to do that initially, where everything and everyone seems so new, but I began to recognize familiar faces and that really helped shrink the campus down for me. Believe it or not, you won't see the kids you went to high school with everyday, even if they go to the same college. This forces you almost to make new friends and experience new things. I have done my best to keep an open mind and positive attitude towards everything I am doing and so far its going great! Everyday I am getting more comfortable on campus and I can't wait to be more established around school (you know, one of the cool kids). Everyone had always told me how different college was I always thought, "come on how different can it be?" It's like another world, seriously. Wish me luck this semester and I hope to see some more Rebels here in years to come.
