College is going great right now. I am about to finish my first semester and already have 44 credit hours under my belt. My goal right now is to obtain awesome grades to maintain my gpa as high as possible. The transition from college to high school is not a bad one. They say college is more difficult and it’s a rough transition for everyone, but in my opinion if you were involved in high school then college should not be a surprise for you. During the first weeks of college everything was slow and it was pretty easy to handle. The rumors and sayings about college being different were true, but definitely not difficult. During the first weeks I was meeting new people every day, it was exciting because I was going to be on my own making my own decisions. Also, time management is a big one in college. Keeping an agenda can sure help. Funny thing is that every freshman is required to take a transition class that is suppose to help you with the transition. I have achieved allot in a short time, take me for example for people who feel discouraged about getting admission into college. I was surely not in top ten or had a high gpa, but I did not let that get in the way, and now I have a good gpa and I am enrolled as an honors student. Like many have said anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Monetary assistance will be an issue for many of you all, as it was for me. All I can say is APPLY TO SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID. I had a tough battle with getting money for college. I made hundreds of calls and allot of emails. At the end I received a couple of scholarships and very little financial aid. Though I talked to my university and they helped me out allot!
My key to success is 100% dedication and consistency. It is simple, you can achieve in college if you attend class every day. Professors are really friendly and will do anything to help you. If you are considering going to college, look into it! I Recommend it as it is a FUN experience and will surely change your life.
